It’s been a busy term here at the academy with the building and refurbishment works underway. I am pleased to be able to announce that all works have gone to plan and the fantastic new and improved facilities will be ready for staff and pupils after the Easter holidays.
With the contractors completing works during the Easter break, staff will need some time to set up the new classrooms and take delivery of our new furniture and resources. To enable this to happen and to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our pupils, the academy will need to be closed to students on Tuesday 23rd April 2019.
Our academy site in Bury will be closing over the Easter break and all Bury students will be welcomed to their new classrooms at our Stowmarket site on Wednesday 24th April. The office team will be confirming new transport arrangements for all our Bury pupils and will be calling their parents/ carers with details.
The improvement works and new ‘East Building’ at our Stowmarket site means that we are now able to bring our teaching and learning provision onto one single site. This will give all of our pupils more access to a better range of facilities and learning opportunities.
The first day of term for pupils will be Wednesday 24th April 2019.
Pupils will be welcomed back in small groups, to allow each pupil time to be shown the new building layout and new facilities.
Each pupil’s parents/ carers will be contacted by the academy office regarding arrangements and timings for their special tour on the 24th.
I would like to wish all pupils and their families and carers a very happy Easter break. I am looking forward to seeing you all on the 24th.
