Here is a copy of the message sent out to all in the academy community regarding an additional INSET day.
Dear parents, carers and colleagues,
I am writing to you, following my letter sent out last week.
You will be aware that the academy is now housed on one single site. This is an exciting opportunity for us to develop the resources available to our pupils, to support them with their learning. These opportunities include access to our trust’s creative curriculum which is based on the principles of expeditionary learning.
The completion of the essential building works now gives us the opportunity to be able to develop high quality provision for our pupils. To support this development the Local Authority have agreed to my request to organise an essential additional training day for our staff on Friday 21st June 2019.
The purpose of the day is to enable the trust to work with staff on a range of academy improvement areas so that we can develop the academy into a fantastic place of learning. Whilst I appreciate that the decision to organise an additional day at relatively short notice may be difficult for you I do hope you understand that the benefits to the academy will be considerable in helping staff to work in the newly adapted site in more creative ways with the pupils. We will be contacting all LA services who need to be aware of this change. This includes ensuring that transportation is cancelled for the day.
As I said in my last letter to you, this is an exciting time for the Olive AP Academy – Suffolk. I appreciate your patience and support as we further develop the provision to meet our ambitions.
