OA-Suffolk has been recognised among the top 5% of schools in Suffolk for engagement with the Pol-Ed programme during the 2025/26 academic year.
The recognition celebrates our commitment to delivering high-quality education that helps children and young people stay safe, understand the world around them and make informed decisions throughout their lives.
Pol-Ed is a comprehensive PSHE programme that is fully aligned with statutory RSHE guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) and wider national safeguarding priorities. Through lessons and curriculum resources, it supports schools to deliver meaningful education around safeguarding, wellbeing and personal development.
At OA-Suffolk, Pol-Ed forms part of our wider commitment to preparing our students for life beyond the classroom. The programme explores a broad range of topics, including healthy relationships, emotional and physical wellbeing, personal safety, understanding the law and recognising risks such as exploitation, anti-social behaviour and addiction.
By combining practical knowledge with opportunities for discussion and reflection, the curriculum helps students develop the confidence, resilience and decision-making skills needed to navigate everyday life safely and successfully.
Being recognised among the highest-engaging schools in Suffolk reflects the dedication of staff to creating a curriculum that is relevant, engaging and responsive to the needs of young people.
The award also reinforces our determination to providing an education that extends beyond academic achievement, equipping students with the knowledge, understanding and life skills they need to thrive both now and in the future.
Congratulations to everyone at OA-Suffolk on this fantastic achievement!
